Seedbed

Cuna de Olivares has its own seedbed, located in Pocito, 15 km to the south of San Juan. It has a 20.000 m2 area, with a 7500 m2 covered area between roots plants and re breeding.
Plants produced in our seedbed, are obtained from a “Mother Plantation”.
Mother Plants are studied and constantly followed by seedbed technicians being the genetic material originated from selected clones adapted by their sanity and form to guarantee and assure a quality plant at the moment of production and harvest.
We use rooting beds with a capacity for obtaining 500,000 plants a year. They have modern equipment and air circulation, heating systems and completely automate irrigation.
Our seedbeds are specially designed to shelter olive plants, which will stay there until they reach a standard size to be planted after a year.
Plants, in their definite flowerpot, are strictly controlled and rustic for their arrival to the land.
Varieties produced in our seedbed are: Arbequina, Picual, Manzanilla and Arbosana, from Spanish origin; Italian Coratina and Koreneiki, from Greek origin.
